4-10 years - Mini Academy

The Mini Academy at Sutton Tennis Academy is aimed at players aspiring to move through our comprehensive performance pathway. Players enrolled on the Mini Academy programme are committed to improve their game by playing multiple times per week, competing regularly and representing the Academy and themselves to the highest of standards.  We progress players through the different ball colours (sponge, orange, green) at the appropriate time to maximise tactical and technical development.  Through our years of experience bringing players through this age group we believe that mini tennis helps us develop more rounded tennis players ready for progression through the academy and success in later years.  Long term development is always at the forefront of our thinking when planning our programme for this age.
Our programme includes the following:
  • Comprehensive tennis tuition, involving technical instruction & tactical coaching
  • Strength and conditioning training, led by a designated S&C Mini Academy team
  • Individual goal setting processes
  • Tournament planning guidance
  • A unique sports psychology support network helping our players manage their emotions and well being on and off court
Currently our Mini Academy includes players who are Regionally and Nationally recognised by the LTA as well as numerous county team members. This last summer 2016, the Sutton Mini Academy players completed a clean sweep of titles in the Surrey AEGON Team Tennis Competition!
